We left Luoyang Monday evening to head for Beijing.  We will be spending Thanksgiving here and will return home on Saturday.  We have a tour guide for our time in Beijing so we can see as much as possible and also relax about all the logistics…her name is Kelly and she is amazing.  She was waiting for us at the airport when we arrived, helped us find a good place for dinner and dropped us off at our hotel seamlessly.  Beijing is home to just under 22 million people and feels more modern than Luoyang, even though both are ancient capitals of China.

On Tuesday, we spent the day at Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Summer Palace.  There is so much history that I will not try to summarize it here, but we have found the stories that accompany the architecture and relics fascinating.  I will let the pictures pique your interest.
